Introduction to Mudras || Indian Fitness Club


According to science our body is made of five elements. These are Fire, Air, Space, Earth and Water. 
According to yogic science when these five elements in our body are imbalance we acquire diseases. We can balance these elements through Mudras . By the practicing of mudra these elements are balanced thus diseases are cured. 



Mudra is done by fingers of our hand. There are five fingers in our hand and each finger represent the different elements these are



  • Thumb represent Fire
  • Indiex finger represents Air
  • Middle finger represents Space
  • ring finger represents Earth 
  • Little finger represents Water 

    Mudra are the combination of these fingers done mannerly. When any of the finger representing any elements is in contact with the thumb, that element is balanced in our body.


  • It can be practiced any time after or before eating. There is not any hard and fast rule to practice Mudra. You can do practice even when you are talking, walking or lying on the bed. The main thing you have to remember that all the other finger which are not participating to make mudra should be straight.
  • There is not any age issue. Any age group of person practice Mudra. These mudras helps only to balance the elements neither increasing or decreasing any elements. So there is not any side effect for doing any mudra.
  • For better result practice at least 20 minutes continuous. You can do a mudra many times a day.

    Here I am telling procedure & benefits of mudras:-

    1. Gyan Mudra :-



  • Procedure :- Touch the tip of your thumb with tip of index finger, other three fingers will be straight and joined.

    Benefits :- As its name shows gyan means knowledge. It is very much effective to increase your intellectual. This mudra is beneficial for the person from suffering from mental ailments eg, depression, migraine etc. It is also useful to sharpen your memory as well.

    2. Shoonya Mudra:-



    Procedure:- Fold your middle finger and press the base of thumb. Now keep the thumb on the middle finger. Other fingers will be straight and joined.
    Benefits:- It is very useful for the person suffering from disease of ear.

    3. Apaan Mudra :-




    Procedure:- Touch the tip of your thumb with the tip two of your fingers these are middle and ring finger. Other fingers will be straight and joined.
    Benefits:- This mudra is useful for eliminating the waste material of our body of any part. It is also beneficial for the patient suffering from constipation. It also helps to reduce the problem in obstruction of urine due to any obstruction either stone or any other thing.

    4. Prana Mudra :-




    Procedure:- Touch the tip of your thumb with the tip of two of your fingers these are little and ring finger. Other finger will be straight and joined.
    Benefits:- As its name shows Prana means life. This mudra helps to produce life energy in our body thus is useful in any disease. It also helps to increase your vitality power and also useful to increase sight of your eyes.

    5. Vayu Mudra:-




    Procedure:- Fold the index finger and touch it to the base of your thumb. Now keep the thumb pressing on index finger. Other fingers will be straight.
    Benefits:- This Mudra helps to relieve gas from your body So helpful in all disease like arthritis, gout, Parkinson's disease. It gives a better result if practiced after Prana mudura.

    6. Prithvi mudra:-




    Procedure :- Press the tip of your ring finger with the tip of thumb. Other fingers will be straight.
    Benefits:- This mudra makes your body strong. An energy flow to make your mind happy.

    7. Varun Mudra:-




    Procedure:- Press the tip of your little finger with the tip of your thumb. Other fingers will be straight.
    Benefits:- It helps in diseases due to lack of water substances in our body. It also helps to circulate the blood in our body.

    8. Surya Mudra:-






    Procedure:- Fold your ring finger and touch it to the base of your thumb. Now press the thumb on ring finger. Keep other fingers straight.
    Benefits:- It is very much beneficial to reduce your weight.

    9. Ling Mudra:-






    Procedure:- Interlock all the finger of both hands. Keep the left thumb up. The right thumb will be crossed by all the fingers. All the fingers will be crossed and the left thumb will be outside in up direction.
    Benefits:- It helps to increase heat of your body. So it helps to cure the diseases related to cold and cough.

    Still if there is any doubt about procedure of doing practice of Mudra I am here giving a picture of each which will be helpful for you to practicing at home.

    Conclusion

    Mudras are very much helpful to balance basic elements of our body which controls our body and mental structure. The most beneficial part of doing mudras are you can do it any time any place doing any work. This is a hidden treasure of Yoga. Use it and you will get a surprising results.
